AUR Rust Convertor, is a concentrated phosphoric acid based, used as a pre-painting treatment for converting surface rust (iron oxide) to iron phosphate, which forms an ideal base for further protective coatings. When you look inside the top of the tyre valve, you will see a metal cylinder in the very centre. This is the valve core. To install Slime, use the black valve core removal tool on the cap of the bottle to slowly twist the valve core counter-clockwise. Allow the air to slowly escape before removing the core completely. After installing Slime, replace the valve core and re-inflate the tyre. If you are using Thru-Core, you should not remove the valve core before installation.
Slime Tube Sealant will seal punctures up to ⅛” (3mm). The puncture must occur in the tread area of the tyre since Slime cannot reach or seal punctures outside of the tread area. Slime will not seal large punctures.
The Slime sealant may not have adequately sealed on the first attempt. We recommend checking the tire for puncturing objects, removing any if found, re-inflating the tire and immediately rotating it. This forces the sealant to flow around the inner tube and allow it to locate and repair the puncture. Slime’s tube sealant is not guaranteed to seal gashes from glass or metal, bead leaks, sidewall punctures or pinch flats. Be sure to check your valve to ensure air loss is not occurring at this source.
No. This red label Tube sealant formula does not contain the rust and corrosion inhibitors necessary to protect a tubeless wheel. We do not recommend or guarantee performance of the product in this application. But Slime does offer a NEW 2-in-1 Tyre Tube sealant (black label) that will work in a tubeless tyre, or a tyre with a tube. Same great Slime two year protection, with more flexibility!

We do not recommend using our sealant formulas outside of their intended applications. Slime’s blue label tubeless sealant utilizes a blend of rubber particles and fibres to treat large punctures in a multi-ply tyre. The rubber particles are too large to effectively treat small punctures in a thin-ply tube. But Slime does offer a NEW 2-in-1 Tyre & Tube sealant (black label) that will work in a tubeless tyre, or a tyre with a tube. Same great Slime two year protection, with more flexibility!
We do not recommend installing Slime into quiet tyres. The tread area of a quiet tyre is coated with a layer of foam. If the sealant is installed, it will be instantly absorbed into the foam, rendering it unable to reach and treat the puncture. The sealant will also likely result in tyre vibrations. Additionally, there is no way to remove the sealant from the foam and the tyre will likely need to be replaced.
We do not recommend installing Slime into run flat tyres. Run flat tyres are not designed for tyre sealant as the run flat tyre structure was specifically created to indicate a flat and still be safe to drive on for a short period of time. Additionally, some run flat tyres have a foam insert to help support the run flat concept. If the tyre does have the foam insert, sealant will be absorbed in the foam and will not reach the puncture hole.

No. The propellant in our Thru-Core sealant is only intended to install the sealant into your tyre. You will need a separate source of air to inflate the tyre after installation.
Slime Thru-Core cans (#60186 and #60187) will last for two years from date of manufacturing when stored in a cool, dry place. The current product date stamp on your green can should look like this: 20294 AT 0054 The first 2 digits tell you the year that the product was manufactured (2020) The next 3 digits tell you the day of the year that the product was manufactured (the 294th day of the year) The next set of letters and numbers is batch code information for internal use In this case, the date of manufacture is October 20, 2020. The can would be good until October of 2022.
